The 12th GRC Annual Meeting was held from 27–31 May 2024 in Interlaken, Switzerland. The event was co-hosted by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Fonds pour la Science, la Technologie et l'Innovation (FONSTI), Ivory Coast’s national funder.

2023 Annual Meeting of the GRC

The 11th GRC Annual Meeting was held at the Peace Palace in the Hague, The Netherlands, from 29th May to Friday 2nd June 2023. The event was hosted by The Dutch Research Council (NWO) and co-hosted by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The event included seven side events, technical visits, GRC regional meetings and the GRC Annual Meeting programme which included panel discussions and reflections with keynote speakers and break-out group chairs and rapporteurs.

The 10th GRC Annual Meeting, was held from 28 May – 2 June 2022 in Panama City, Panama. The Meeting was hosted by National Secretary of The National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) and co-hosted by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF).

2021 Annual Meeting of the GRC

The 9th GRC Annual Meeting, originally scheduled to take place in Durban, South Africa, was held from 24-28 May 2021 in a virtual format in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Meeting was jointly hosted by the National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africa, and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

The 8th GRC Annual Meeting was held from 1 - 3 May 2019 in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The meeting was jointly hosted by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina (CONICET).

2013 Annual Meeting of the GRC

On 29 May 2013, the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council (GRC) in Berlin has ended. Over three days, the heads of about 70 science and research councils from around the world as well as high-ranking guests from science and research, science administration and research policy attended the meeting.

2012 Annual Meeting of the GRC

The Global Summit on Merit Review was hosted by the U.S. National Science Foundation from May 13-15, 2012.  Almost 50 Heads of Research Councils, primarily representing the G-20 and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries, attended the event.
