GRC Seeking Hosts for 2027 Regional Meetings
Invitation to Host 2027 Regional Meetings
Global Research Council (GRC) participant organisations are invited to submit bids to host Regional Meetings of the Global Research Council in 2027. Regional Meetings are to take place in:
- Americas
- Asia–Pacific
- Europe
- Middle East–North Africa
- Sub-Saharan Africa
Interested organisations should submit their bid to grc@ukri.org by no later than 25 January 2027.
All organisations submitting bids should have participated in previous Global Research Council Meetings. For each Regional Meeting, it is encouraged that there will be a host Research Council and a co-host Research Council. Co-hosting has been proved to be a valuable instrument towards the GRC’s purpose to improve communication and cooperation, as well as to promote knowledge sharing between national research councils.
The hosts and co-host organisations for each Regional Meeting will each nominate one individual to serve on the 2027–2028 GRC International Steering Committee that will be charged with coordinating the hosting of the Regional Meetings and supporting the development of the agendas for the GRC Regional Meetings and the 16th Annual Meeting. The GRC Regional Meetings are expected to take place between October and December 2027.
The bid should include the following information:
- A completed Application Form;
- A short (maximum 5 pages) narrative in support of the application.
Co-hosts are also expected to cover the full local costs associated with hosting and arranging the Regional Meeting. Travel and accommodations costs are covered by the participants.
The GRC Governing Board will consider all bids and announce the hosts of the 2027 Regional Meetings at the GRC’s 15th Annual Meeting in May 2027. The GRC Executive Support Group will assist all hosts in planning for the Regional Meetings.
