Call for Expressions of Interest to host the Global Research Council Executive Secretariat
Global Research Council (GRC) participant organisations are invited to submit Expressions of Interest to provide and host the next Executive Secretary/Secretariat.
The Executive Secretary acts as the main point of contact for the Global Research Council. Responsible for supporting the Governing Board, and the hosts of Annual and Regional Meetings, as well as participants in all organisation matters concerning the GRC. The Executive Secretary also plays an important and leading role in developing the GRC’s strategy, policies, and procedures, working closely with the GRC’s Governing Board and Executive Support Group.
The Executive Secretary position is provided as an in-kind contribution by a GRC participant organisation. Therefore, the Executive Secretary’s host organisation is expected to cover all costs attributed to the role for the 5- year term, including (but not limited to) FTE, travel and subsistence and other associated overheads.
The proposed Executive Secretary/Secretariat team should have reasonable knowledge of GRC history, policies, and practices, or with demonstrable ability of supporting similar organisational structures, the ability to gain new knowledge quickly, and evidence of working multilaterally with international partners. In addition, the Executive Secretary should have the credibility, organisational skills, and institutional support to help the GRC continue to thrive in the years ahead.
The term of office would be due to start after the 10th Annual Meeting in May 2022, however some flexibility in this can be arranged with the current Executive Secretariat to ensure a smooth handover process. Participation organisations submitting an Expression of Interest are asked to set out their proposed handover timeline.
Expressions of interest should be formally submitted by one or more GRC Participating Organisation(s) and not by individuals in their personal capacity. Expressions of Interest will not be considered from third parties or non-GRC participation organisations.
Interested GRC participant organisations are invited to contact grc@ukri.org to obtain the call application document and for any further information.
Expressions of interest should be submitted to grc@ukri.org by the 29th April at 17.00 CEST.
