

Professor Dr. Sompong Klaynonsruang is a renowned biochemist with extensive expertise in academic leadership and research innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Tokai University, Japan, an MSc. in Biochemistry from Mahidol University, Thailand, and a BSc. in Medical Technology from Khon Kaen University, Thailand.
Professor Klaynonsruang has had a distinguished career, including her tenure as the Director of the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B) from 2022 to 2024. She has also held prominent positions such as Dean of the Faculty of Science at Khon Kaen University and Deputy Director of the Division of Program Management at Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI). Currently, she serves as the President of TSRI under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI).
With over 100 publications to her name, Professor Klaynonsruang is a prolific researcher whose work has significantly advanced the field of biochemistry. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand in 2023 and 2021 and the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant in 2009. She has also received the Thailand Innovation Award from the Science Society of Thailand and the Gold Medal Award for Science and Technology from Khon Kaen University.
