Dr. Daniel Salamone is Principal Investigator of CONICET and Director of the Animal Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He is a veterinary doctor graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, he has a Masters degree in Veterinary from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and a PhD in Biotechnology and Biomedicine from the University of Massachusetts, United States. He is a specialist in assisted reproduction, cloning, transgenesis and gene editing in animals. He published more than 80 publications in refereed scientific journals and was director of more than 20 doctoral thesis. He has taught numerous Biotechnology courses and seminars in Universities all over the world. Dr. Salamone is a member of the National Academy of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine and the International Embryo Technology Society (IETS), of which he was President. He has led various scientific and technological development projects in the field of animal reproduction biotechnology and numerous ventures have emerged from his laboratory that gave rise to startups.
